Restaurante Lumbre – BLESS Hotel Ibiza

We developed the interior design project for Lumbre, the restaurant located at BLESS Hotel Ibiza, with the aim of creating a space capable of complementing and enhancing a gastronomic concept deeply connected to the Mediterranean, fire and tradition. From the outset, we understood that the project was not simply about designing a restaurant, but about creating a complete experience in which the environment, materials and light engage in dialogue with the cuisine and the natural rhythm of the island.

Located in the privileged setting of Cala Nova, Ibiza, we worked from this direct connection with the landscape and local identity. The concept was structured around a clear idea: to bring into the space the values of authenticity, product and origin that define Lumbre’s culinary philosophy. To achieve this, we opted for an honest material palette based on noble and natural materials that evoke the Mediterranean essence without artifice.

Wood and stone became our tools for shaping the atmosphere. Through their textures and tones, we created a warm, welcoming and deeply sensory environment. Every material decision responded to the intention of reinforcing this connection with the land, bringing weight, a sense of rootedness and permanence that engages in dialogue with tradition.

One of the key aspects of the project was the relationship between the space and light. During the day, we created an open, bright and natural atmosphere where daylight enhances the materials and generates a relaxed environment in keeping with the restaurant’s daytime character. At night, the space evolves towards a more intimate and secluded dimension, with artificial lighting taking on a leading role. We designed enveloping lighting that was carefully considered to bring depth, nuance and a sense of warmth that invites guests to stay.

In this sense, we understood the restaurant as a space in constant transformation throughout the day. The transition between natural and artificial light, between openness and intimacy, between the social and the personal, forms part of the design itself. This adaptability allows Lumbre to function as a versatile setting while always retaining a clear and recognisable identity.

We wanted every corner of Lumbre to convey coherence and continuity, avoiding unnecessary gestures and opting for understated elegance. The project was built around subtlety, carefully considering proportions, circulation and the relationship between the different environments so that the space could be experienced without haste. We wanted to create a place where time takes on another dimension, where the experience is not immediate, but unfolds gradually.

The result was a space that accompanies the gastronomic experience without imposing itself, reinforces the authenticity of the concept and establishes a direct connection with both its surroundings and the people who experience it.
