Textiles that transform spaces: design, comfort, and customization in hospitality projects

In interior design, every detail matters. But if there’s one element that defines first impressions and directly contributes to guest comfort, it’s textiles. In one of our episodes of “Espacios que hablan”, Laura Huerta spoke with José Gancedo about how Tapicerías Gancedo S.A. adapts trends to meet the needs of the hospitality sector—customizing designs without compromising on quality or style.

“That, I believe, is truly our advantage: we can start from a trendy design—not necessarily made for hotels—but if our client, whether it’s a decorator or a hotelier, needs that design adapted for their hotel, we can do it,” explained José. This flexible approach is key in projects where branding and spatial differentiation are essential.

It’s not just about aesthetics. As Laura highlighted during their conversation,
“This also directly impacts the guest’s comfort—all the design, the quality, and the care you put into it.”
A guest’s experience begins the moment they enter their room. What they see, what they touch, the feeling the space evokes… all of that is shaped by fabrics, colors, and textures.

“I believe textile decor in a room is among the first things you notice—when you open the door, you immediately see the colors and designs, and it’s an important part of the experience,” added José, emphasizing how textiles set the tone and influence the immediate perception of a space.

Today, layering and textile detailing have become a major trend. As Laura noted,
“It adds that cozy feeling, and the more layers and details you include—the trims and finishes you’re working on now—it all adds richness and versatility to the textures and overall look.”

At U Interior Design, we view textiles not just as an accessory, but as a powerful expressive element that plays a leading role. That’s why we work closely with expert companies like Tapicerías Gancedo S.A., who understand the importance of tailoring each design while keeping technical and functional hotel requirements in mind.

Because a well-dressed space doesn’t just look good—it feels good.
