When it comes to large-scale projects in the hotel industry, few can compare to the Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife transformation. This ambitious project not only repositioned an entire area of the island, but also left an indelible mark on the professional careers of all those involved, especially on Loly Figueroa, who shared her experience with Laura Huerta in the second episode of Espacios que hablan, our hotel interior design video podcast.
The arrival of the Hard Rock International team and the Palladium Group in Tenerife marked the beginning of a project that would change the island’s ‘sound’ forever. From the beginning, the project was a titanic challenge, as the project required not only the remodelling of the hotel, but also the creation of a completely new concept in a location that, until then, had not been exploited with the potential that Hard Rock was willing to offer. The mission was clear:
Reposition the area as a trendy destination, attracting tourists and locals, and turning every event into a must-attend event.
One of the biggest challenges of this project was the strict schedule the team had to meet. With an immovable opening date, every member of the team had to give their best. This impeccable coordination was key to ensuring that every detail was aligned with Hard Rock’s high standards.
On the opening day, even the Hard Rock International directors joined the team for the final push, helping to set up furniture and making sure everything was ready for the opening.
«It was amazing to see everyone, from operators to senior management, working together towards a common goal.» – Laura Huerta
The culmination of this titanic effort came with the validation of the rooms, a meticulous process in which every detail was reviewed.
‘I remember the moment of validation of rooms by Hard Rock International, we were going one by one.‘ – Loly Figueroa
This process not only ensured that everything was in perfect condition for the first guests, but also reflected the commitment to excellence that characterises the Hard Rock brand.
The success of the Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife was not only reflected in guest satisfaction and industry recognition, but also in the lasting impact it had on the area. Each event organised at the hotel attracted people from all over the island, and even from other nearby islands, consolidating Tenerife as a top destination thanks to its hotel and entertainment offer.
The Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife project is a testimony to how a clear vision, meticulous planning and exceptional teamwork can transform not just a hotel, but an entire region. For Loly Figueroa, it was ‘probably the hardest experience’ of her career, but also the most exciting. Without a doubt, these types of projects not only raise the standards of hospitality, but also leave an unforgettable mark on those who participate in them.
