U Interior Design and Ibiza Stone: protagonists at Casa Decor 2025

The 60th Edition of Casa Decor: “Ibiza Soul” – A Tribute to Timeless Luxury and Materiality

The 60th edition of Casa Decor, held in Madrid in the iconic building at Sagasta 33, has provided the perfect setting for U Interior Design, in collaboration with Suministros Ibiza, to unveil their innovative space Piedra de Ibiza – Lobby “Ibiza Soul”. This project, open to the public until May 18, redefines luxury and material expression through the use of Piedra de Ibiza, a stone that evokes the pure, timeless essence of the island.

The “Ibiza Soul” Space: A Habitable Sculpture
Led by Laura Huerta, together with two outstanding members of the team, Antonio Guillamón and Laura Pérez, the team has conceived a lobby that transcends the boundaries of traditional design. As the designers explain, this space “explores the relationship between luxury, time, and matter, transforming an everyday environment like a lobby into a monolithic and immutable experience.”

The installation features various types of Piedra de Ibiza, each with unique characteristics that lend identity to the space. Ibiza Grey Stone – Pieles represents authenticity in its purest form: it retains the natural coating of the stone block, untouched and unpolished. Ibiza Grey Stone – Rayado, with its linear brushed texture, adds visual rhythm and refined tactility. Ibiza Red Stone – Forro evokes the Mediterranean essence with its rich orange hues reminiscent of Ibiza’s traditional pathways. This stone, crafted with deep respect for tradition, is available in 4 cm thickness and custom corner pieces, cut to finish.

The flooring becomes a statement feature with the Sunset series, composed of biscuit-shaped pieces in a honed finish, allowing for dynamic, character-rich patterns. Sunset Light Pink offers warmth and softness; Sunset Yellow brings vibrant energy; Sunset White adds luminosity and purity; and Sunset Dark Pink introduces contrast and drama.

The artisanal process behind the treatment of these stones is key to their exclusivity. Suministros Ibiza extracts each piece with precision and respect for local tradition, using advanced technology to ensure unique finishes.

Timeless Elegance in the Furnishings
Furniture also plays a central role: the Adam table by prestigious brand Natuzzi Italia adds timeless elegance that complements the solidity of the stone. Adam is a collection created in collaboration with Marcel Wanders, characterized by soft, rounded organic forms. Natural colors and elements like wood and stone blend seamlessly with the time-honored artisanal traditions of Apulia.

Suspended above, a luminous fabric developed by Aitex introduces a sensory dimension, enveloping the space in an ethereal atmosphere. This innovative textile is made of optical fibers mixed with polyester, lit by LED sources distributed along its length, changing appearance with the light.

Technology and Lighting as Experience Enhancers
Smart home automation, powered by Jung systems, allows lighting and ambiance to be adjusted to suit every moment, reinforcing the concept of a living space. Up to 32 smart functions can be controlled from a single device. Sculptural lighting by Aromas del Campo adds warmth and emphasizes material textures, enhancing the spatial experience.

The artistic element is elevated by a sculpture created by Ainhoa Moreno, composed of methacrylate tubes descending from the ceiling. These interact with handcrafted cellulose and lighting to create reflections and shadows throughout the space, adding an organic, poetic touch. Titled Soul Reflection, the suspended sculpture transforms the hotel reception into a play of light and transparency.

Two paintings by Pablo Manso further enhance the contemplative nature of the lobby, which he describes as “two canvases like Mediterranean sails, drifting at sea.”

This design doesn’t aim merely to impress visually, it seeks to forge an emotional connection with visitors. In the words of the U Interior Design team: “This project is a tribute to Ibiza in its purest form.” With this approach, every element within Ibiza Soul becomes a unique piece of art.

Media Recognition
Multiple media outlets have spotlighted the impact of the space designed by U Interior Design at Casa Decor 2025.

El País, in its design section, noted that U Interior Design “goes all in with the stone from the island’s ancient mountains, from floor to ceiling and furniture.” Hola magazine described it as “a visual and sensory experience” where cutting-edge design meets Ibiza’s traditional roots. Expansión highlighted it under the headline “biscuit floor.” Traveler called it “a hotel lobby inspired by Ibiza.”

Diario de Ibiza referred to it as “a manifesto of timeless beauty” that brings Mediterranean essence to the heart of Madrid. La Voz de Ibiza emphasized how this design redefines contemporary luxury through the exclusive use of Ibiza marble. And Vida & Style stressed that Ibiza Soul offers not only a unique material, but also a profound connection to the island’s cultural identity.

Piedra de Ibiza – Lobby “Ibiza Soul” is far more than a decorative proposal; it is a sensory experience that pays tribute to the cultural and natural richness of Ibiza. U Interior Design has successfully transformed a traditional lobby into a stage where luxury meets authenticity. Casa Decor 2025 becomes the ideal showcase for proving that design can transcend function and become livable art.
