The team at U Interior Design has been awarded the Best Original Design prize at Casa Decor 2025 for their “Sunset Biscuit” flooring, created for the space Ibiza Soul, by Piedra de Ibiza, for Suministros Ibiza. This recognition, granted by the Casa Decor jury, highlights the artisanal, emotional, and aesthetic qualities of the design by Laura Huerta, Antonio Guillamón, and Laura Pérez.
“Sunset Biscuit” is part of the Sunset collection and has become one of the most talked-about elements of this edition due to its expressiveness, originality, and connection to the essence of Ibiza. Inspired by the island’s light, color, and warmth, the flooring combines biscuit-shaped pieces with a honed finish that offers a soft and elegant texture. The selected tones —Sunset Light Pink, Sunset Yellow, Sunset White, and Sunset Dark Pink— create a dynamic, balanced pattern with strong emotional impact. Each color was carefully chosen to convey a sensory experience: from the softness of light pink to the vibrant energy of yellow and the dramatic depth of dark pink.
The “Sunset Biscuit” flooring is part of the Ibiza Soul space, which pays tribute to the island of Ibiza through the use of local stones and a color palette that evokes light, warmth, and Mediterranean tradition. The pieces, handcrafted with materials selected by Suministros Ibiza, enhance the space’s exclusive and sensory character.
This design caught the jury’s attention not only for its visual impact but also for its conceptual depth. The Ibiza Soul space has been described by its creators as “a habitable sculpture” that explores the relationship between luxury, time, and matter. Beyond serving as a lobby, the space offers an immersive and timeless experience, transforming an everyday environment into a habitable work of art.
One of the design’s major achievements was the integration of different types of Ibiza stone, processed by Suministros Ibiza with deep respect for local tradition. These stones bring texture, contrast, and authenticity to the whole, from the rawness of Ibiza Grey to the warm tones of Ibiza Red, evoking the island’s traditional paths.
The artisanal process used to treat both the stones and the Sunset collection pieces has been key in achieving a unique result. Each material was carefully selected and crafted to enhance the emotional connection with visitors, inviting them to pause, contemplate, and feel.
Ibiza Soul is a brilliant example of how contemporary design can honor tradition without sacrificing innovation. With this award, U Interior Design strengthens its position as one of the most prominent studios on the national scene, committed to a design approach that blends material, soul, and territory.
